Foam Pigs
|
|
Foam pigs are an inexpensive and versatile type of pipeline cleaning device. They are lightweight and easy to work with and able to negotiate uncommon piping, fittings, and valves. Sizes range from 2" to 60" standard, with densities of foam ranging from 2-pound, 5-pound, and 8-pound per cubic foot. Standard configurations include bare, criss-cross, wirebrush, plastic bristle, and silicon carbide. A pig style can be identified to best suit your application by reviewing specification sheets found within each product classification. They are used for drying, cleaning, batching, and product removal operations in the oil and gas, municipality, food and beverage, mining, chemical and petrochemical, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.

Pigging Equipment

In addition to pipeline pigs, Pigs Unlimited also manufactures and offers pigging-related items such as closures, launchers & receivers, pigging valves, pig detectors, and pig tracking systems. Some of these items are available for both sale and rent.

Solid Cast Pigs
|
|
Solid-cast pigs, which have the flexibility and easy handling of foam pigs, coupled with the ruggedness and excellent sealing capabilities of steel pigs, prove very efficient as general purpose pigs for batching, displacement and routine pigging operations. With the addition of brushes, they can also be used for cleaning applications. Various configurations are available, including spherical, cup-type and disc-type.

Spare Components
|
|
From varying cup and disc designs to multiple styles of brushes and blades, we manufacture a full-range of spare components for our pigs and other manufacturer’s styles. Construction compounds for the sealing elements include polyurethane as standard, with options including neoprene, buna-n, epdm, and viton. For brushes, we offer an oil-tempered spring wire in carbon steel and stainless steel in various gauges and styles, as well as, a plastic brush for internally coated and plastic pipes. Our line of spare components are normally interchangeable with other manufacturer’s pigs. Please review the specification sheets under individual products for dimensions.

Steel Mandrel Pigs
|
|
Steel pigs are a more long-term, long-life pig. They consist of a steel mandrel body with replaceable sealing elements (cups and discs). They can also be equipped with abrasive components (brushes and blades) for removing deposits on the interior pipe wall. The advantage of steel pigs is the ability to replace the wearing components, thereby rendering it a new pig. Individual specification sheets, found within each product classification, outline the different types of applications and options.
