At the Unloading Area, we can receive raw material or product via truck,
rail car, or ship. By strategically locating valves, (which can be operated
remotely by an operator in a control room or with the addition of electronic
pig detectors and solenoids, explained in more detail later), product
is sent to proper holding tanks for later use. As you can see, after product
carrier (truck, rail car, or ship) is emptied, the PDP pig is run between
the two Pigging Stations, pushing the product left in the line into the
appropriate tank. You will also notice that the small amount in between
the Pigging Tee and the first valve on the main line is pushed to a containment
tank. This could be further recovered by small piping leading back to
the appropriate tank. By utilizing the Process Pig System, the line is
free of previous product for the next unloading process.
